» CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character NAME: Vitali Yinza
Character PULL-POINT: Three months after waking up from a 90 year sleep (refer to end of History).
Character AGE: 120-something. Looks to be in his mid-thirties.
Character ABILITIES:
Vitali is an element mage (fire, water, earth, air, and their derivatives). He can use and manipulate the predominant elements around him as dictated by their nature (earth is generally defensive while fire is generally offensive). He can’t generate these elements though and is limited by what and how much is around him. His magic doesn’t use verbal commands. It functions more on physical actions; like a sort of extreme, very versatile, telekinesis. His magic looks like electric blue fire.
He is also the host for the End. The End is the physical manifestation of the end of the (his) world sealed inside his body. Due to the fact that the End is sealed within Vitali it grants him certain abilities.
• As a result of Vitali trying to throw himself off a cliff he has a set of smoky silhouette-like wings that he can pull in and out as he pleases. (It should be noted that Vitali is really, really bad at flying. The End is not).
• Vitali cannot eat and he doesn’t need to sleep as much (about once every two weeks).
• And, on the note of healing wounds, Vitali heals much, much slower than a normal human would. His wounds leak smoke and will stop bleeding after a few moments but they will not heal for quite a while (depending on severity).
Character HISTORY:
Vitali was originally a powerful and well respected mage among many who were summoned to help solve the problem of the world dying. After much deliberation and failed attempts they vote on attempting to stop the end of the world by sealing it in the body of a human; which they decide by picking randomly from their group. Vitali’s name gets pulled. The end of the world is sealed inside his body, blacking out his right eye and he goes home. Things start looking up! The world starts pulling itself back together and people go back to living their lives.

And then a continent sinks.

Shortly after there’s an unexplained plague.

The world’s leaders get together and come to the conclusion that maybe the world is dying again and their last attempt didn’t work. So, they go looking for Vitali only to find out that his home continent has been razed and, while people say they have seen him, he’s nowhere to be found. Eventually they find him, find out that the End has corrupted Vitali, and subsequently decide that maybe everybody would be better off with Vitali dead.
The best and brightest warriors are rounded up and told to kill Vitali through any means necessary. Whoever does this and comes back with proof will be rewarded. Many die trying. A group of the remaining warriors banded together and attacked Vitali all at once, mortally wounding him. But, before they can deliver the killing blow the End takes over Vitali’s body and leaves. The last thing he remembers before blacking out is stumbling around in the catacombs underneath the ruins of his home-city.
In what seems to him like a few hours, Vitali wakes up, makes his way to the surface, and finds that the world he once knew is a vast desert. He spends three months wandering though the ruins of what were once grand cities and learns that it has been 90 years since he was last awake. He meets no one.
He is the last man alive.

Character PERSONALITY:
When the End corrupted Vitali he retained much of his personality. He’s a rather mellow and easygoing kind of guy. He’s pretty accepting of any and all quirks a person may have (doesn’t mean he won’t comment on the weirdness though) and tends to give people the benefit of the doubt at least once. Blow that chance though, and it’ll be hard to get him to change his mind. He’s good at taking things in stride though this tends to diminish when he’s stressed.
Vitali would much rather solve problems through diplomacy. He believes fighting over something, while it does have its place, is usually a waste of time and energy that could be better spent doing other things (whatever value he held for preserving life was overridden when the End was sealed in his body). That being said, he will not hesitate to attack and is perfectly capable of defending himself. He spent the better part of the year after the End was sealed dancing around pretty much everyone he knew like this. Since he’s spent so much time alone his ability and patience for sitting and trying to work something out has diminished somewhat.
Vitali is incredibly stubborn. He will not bend or budge if he doesn’t agree and will fight tooth and nail against something he believes should not happen. If he says he’ll do a certain thing he won’t stop until he succeeds. On the other hand, he holds grudges like no one’s business and will act on it given the opportunity. While he won’t physically hurt someone he will go out of his way to be difficult. Snarky, scathing comments and dry sarcasm are his usual weapons when he feels like being nasty.
Due to the End’s influence, Vitali is incapable of feeling remorse or guilt when faced with the suffering or death of others (be it cause by him or otherwise). He can’t feel empathy for anyone and will shrug it off. Like water off a duck’s back, it’ll just slide right off him and he’ll go about his merry way. He’s very much aware of this fact and feels it like a void in his moral character. He hates it.
Vitali likes talking to people and enjoys playing with words. It’s a skill he picked up while he was learning magic. He doesn’t like talking about his past actions though, as he sees nothing wrong with them. The End’s influence on him is subtle but constant. Its job is to break things. In the most literal sense, it is Vitali’s world’s reset button. So, Vitali constantly has to fight with the urge to destroy whatever is around him as long as there is anything living. This urge (and the End itself) is usually a sort of white noise in the back of his head that can be ignored. Things get harder when surrounded by living, thriving things. Vitali gets distracted and easily irritated when he’s trying to keep the End from having its way. Vitali does not like talking about the End or how it affects him. He will often ignore questions to the point of obviously changing the subject.
While originally okay with spending long spans of time alone, Vitali has spent three months with no human contact at all and has had to deal with the fact that he’s the last human alive in the world. He craves the company of others like a plant needs the sun. It’s been so long though, that he’s almost forgotten how to act around others or how to deal with large groups of people. He has an almost fanatical desire to get along with most everyone. The memory of being alone for so long haunts him like a nightmare that he never wants to relive.
Almost as soon as the End was sealed in his body, Vitali made it his life's goal to find a way to get it out (without killing him). It is his greatest wish seconded only by his desperate need to find at least one other person in the world.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON:
Vitali would choose his double bladed staff (the blades retract into the staff if a certain section if twisted) as he already knows how to use it and learning another weapon seems rather silly to him.
Chosen SKILLSET:
Vitali would very much prefer not to be involved in heavy combat. He’s certainly capable of it (even without the End’s abilities) but he’d much rather act as a scout or something similar.

» SAMPLES
First PERSON:
[text]
Asdklf;agn Oh, shoot. So that’s the keyboard thing. Well. That explains the letters. I am a genius.
ANYWAY, I guess a hello is in order. I’m Vitali and it’s a pleasure to meet…..my netbook, or whatever this thing is. Doesn’t matter. I can’t see your faces directly but I’m sure you’re all pleasant people. Granted, any person would be pleasant to be around at this point. I look forward to actually seeing your faces!
Third PERSON:
Little puffs of dust and sand rose with every step he took. He’d been trudging through what seemed like an endless desert for…he had no idea how long. Nothing changed. There was no variation in the scenery. It was safe to say that Vitali was more than a little bored with things.
He stopped, stabbed his staff into the sand, and stared at the horizon, squinting at the sunlight reflecting off the sand. Everything was so bright! And warmer than it had any business being. He’d had to take off and roll up his cloak, what was it…weeks ago? It’s amazing how little time matters when there’s nothing to measure it with and no one to care.
It had been a long time since Vitali had seen people too, which was upsetting. He had stopped dwelling on it too much. It made exploring the few ruined cities he’d run across depressing and difficult. This crushing, overwhelming sense of loneliness would catch him and he’d end up spending days sitting there, in the dusty, echoing halls, wondering where all the life had gone. Vitali was pretty sure he was going to lose it one day.
He sighed and squinted through the glare at the horizon. Yep. That was the silhouette of a city all right. He wiped at his right eye, black liquid coming off on his hand, yanked his staff out of the sand, and started walking. I he was lucky. Really, really lucky, there would be someone there…and he could ask was year it was.

» ADDITIONAL NOTES
Also, two things that aren’t really abilities but are also effects of the End: Vitali’s right eye is entirely black, he can’t see out of it, and leaks some kind of black liquid constantly. He also has a stylized skeleton tattooed over his body (corresponding with his own bones). This is what seals the End in his body.

Aaaaaand, the End's mini app is here.
